The exhibition Alešville is the first comprehensive retrospective of the sculptor Aleš Veselý (1935–2015), who was one of the key figures of Czech postwar art. Veselý stood out in particular for his monumental realizations in the public space, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 1970 he acquired the premises of a former mill, where he built a unique sculpture studio in the form of a complex work of land art. In 1989 he became a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. His last realization was The Law of Irreversibility at the Jewish Cemetery in Terezín in 2015.
