In the exhibition Between One and Another Jan Smejkal presents a new series of minimalist paintings that explore the silent relationships between color, space, and perception. Expansive fields of color float across the canvas in quiet dialogue, forming a visual language of proximity, distance, and resonance. These works continue Smejkal’s poetic investigation into the subtleties of communication—what is spoken, what is withheld, and what exists in the space in between. Presented in the intimate setting of Janáček 61, overlooking the Vltava River, the exhibition invites viewers to slow down and attune themselves to the soft, shifting interplay of visual forms and emotional traces.
