During Prague Art Week, the private collection HCAC (Holec Contemporary Art Collection), which Jakub Holec and his wife Katarina Holcová began building after 2010, will be presented to the public for the first time. The collection originally focused on figures from the “founding generation” of Czech graffiti and street art and gradually and intuitively documented their entry into the gallery scene and the nearly twenty-year development of individual artists in both the domestic and international art context.
The originally subcultural character of the collection began to change over time, and the collection expanded its scope to include other established and institutionally recognized artists of international significance. The HCAC’s collection, which is centered on painting, now represents approximately 40 artists and 130 works.
The exhibition in the premises of the former bank in Jerusalem Street will also include the exhibitions Luděk Rathouský: Black Series and the group exhibition Fields of Flicker.
