The third edition of Ora et lege focuses on text as a site for polyphony. Drawing inspiration from the eighteenth-century poet Saïat Nova (1722–1801), the exhibition views text as a simultaneously visual, performative, and sonic work. As an Armenian living and working in Georgia, Nova sang in multiple languages and wrote in multiple alphabets at once. Innovative for the times, his poetry sounded, read, and looked different, creating a cross-cultural dialogue on the page. The exhibition brings together artists who explore the political and social aspects of polyphony and what it means today.
