For the third year in a row, the festival Prague Art Week<\/span>24 <\/span>will kick off the autumn art season with a diverse program in a number of renowned art museums and institutions, private collections, selected project spaces, art studios, and numerous galleries that will present the local art scene as well as host artists and galleries from abroad. The festival\u2019s extensive program will show visitors various forms of contemporary art, from intimate painting exhibitions in galleries to large-scale sculptural realizations in the public space to live performances. Visitors can look forward, for example, to Josef Bolf\u2019s new solo exhibition at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, where both Czech and international art lovers will also appreciate the opportunity to visit the exhibition <\/span>KAFKAesque<\/span><\/i>, which reflects on the world-famous work of Prague native Franz Kafka and on his poetics in the context of contemporary art. Kunsthalle Praha will be hosting the first comprehensive presentation of the work another Prague native, writer and photographer Lucia Moholy, in an exhibition entitled <\/span>Lucia Moholy: Exposures<\/span><\/i>. One of the most internationally successful Czech artists of the younger generation, Vojt\u011bch Kova\u0159\u00edk, will also be presenting his first large solo exhibition in Prague at Museum Kampa.<\/span><\/p>\n

What should you look forward to? \u201cThis year PAW<\/span>24<\/span> is once again preparing an exhibition program in an unconventional location! The festival program, which will be announced in June, will include an invitation to a newly renovated building right in the heart of Prague, which will be hosting a unique exhibition project presenting the youngest generation of artists. This project, called PAW Young Selection, is being prepared by the organizers in cooperation with the KODL Gallery. Another highlight in a non-gallery space will be the exhibition of one of the most interesting Czech private collections, which will come alive in an unusual setting and in a very unconventional way,\u201d says festival director Lenka Bake\u0161ov\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prague Art Week will once again include a program of lectures and debates in the Superstudio. This year, the accompanying program, titled EDUcare, will focus on creative education. It will take place at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, which has a long history in this field and will be deeply involved in shaping the program. Other accompanying programs will be held at the National Gallery Prague in the Grand Hall of the Trade Fair Palace and other venues of the Biennale Matter of Art, which this year focuses on the relationship between the countryside and the city and the related meaning and purpose of human work. The festival will also include VIP events and educational guided tours, allowing the public to discover the diversity of the Prague art scene. All events in the Prague Art Week program are open to the general public free of charge on designated days and times.<\/span><\/p>\n
