The <\/span>exhibition <\/span>Pneuma <\/span>Alchemy<\/span><\/em> at <\/span>The <\/span>Design <\/span><\/a>gallery <\/span>presents <\/span>a <\/span>meeting <\/span>between <\/span>Paula <\/span>Ben\u010da\u0165ov\u00e1 <\/span>and <\/span>David <\/span>Kr\u0148ansk\u00fd, <\/span>whose <\/span>practices <\/span>move <\/span>between <\/span>intuition <\/span>and <\/span>structure. <\/span>The <\/span>shared <\/span>theme <\/span>is <\/span>transformation\u2014<\/span>those <\/span>invisible <\/span>processes <\/span>of <\/span>change <\/span>that <\/span>occur <\/span>both <\/span>in <\/span>materials <\/span>and <\/span>in <\/span>perception. <\/span>Ben\u010da\u0165ov\u00e1 <\/span>uses <\/span>ceramics <\/span>to <\/span>capture <\/span>fleeting <\/span>gestures <\/span>and <\/span>energies. <\/span>Her <\/span>objects <\/span>carry <\/span>imprints <\/span>of <\/span>spontaneity <\/span>and <\/span>emotion, <\/span>becoming <\/span>records <\/span>of <\/span>internal <\/span>states <\/span>as <\/span>well <\/span>as <\/span>of <\/span>time <\/span>and <\/span>chemical <\/span>reactions. <\/span>Kr\u0148ansk\u00fd, <\/span>by <\/span>contrast, <\/span>works <\/span>with <\/span>the <\/span>image <\/span>on <\/span>the <\/span>edge <\/span>between <\/span>painting <\/span>and <\/span>object\u2014<\/span>his <\/span>geometric <\/span>compositions <\/span>and <\/span>muted <\/span>color <\/span>palettes <\/span>explore <\/span>the <\/span>relationship <\/span>between <\/span>sign <\/span>and <\/span>surface, <\/span>between <\/span>order <\/span>and <\/span>expression. <\/span>The <\/span>exhibition <\/span>thus <\/span>becomes <\/span>a <\/span>space <\/span>where <\/span>art <\/span>transforms <\/span>into <\/span>a <\/span>tool <\/span>of <\/span>both <\/span>personal <\/span>and <\/span>collective <\/span>change, <\/span>opening <\/span>questions <\/span>of <\/span>identity <\/span>and <\/span>the <\/span>invisible <\/span>forces <\/span>that <\/span>shape <\/span>our <\/span>experience <\/span>in <\/span>a <\/span>world <\/span>of <\/span>constant <\/span>transformation.<\/span><\/p>\n

At <\/span>Bold <\/span><\/a>Gallery, <\/span>the <\/span>expressive <\/span>painting <\/span>of <\/span>Al\u017eb\u011bta <\/span>Ba\u0161tov\u00e1 <\/span>encounters <\/span>the <\/span>precise <\/span>structures <\/span>of <\/span>Vojt\u011bch <\/span>Hrubant\u2019s <\/span>works \u2014 <\/span>a <\/span>dialogue <\/span>that <\/span>can <\/span>still <\/span>be <\/span>experienced <\/span>until <\/span>May 24. <\/span>Despite <\/span>their <\/span>initially <\/span>contrasting <\/span>approaches \u2014 <\/span>emotional, <\/span>gestural <\/span>painting <\/span>versus <\/span>geometrically <\/span>structured <\/span>sculptural <\/span>and <\/span>graphic <\/span>experiments \u2014 <\/span>a <\/span>strong <\/span>resonance <\/span>emerges <\/span>between <\/span>them. <\/span>Both <\/span>artists <\/span>explore <\/span>themes <\/span>of <\/span>identity <\/span>and <\/span>perception, <\/span>each <\/span>through <\/span>a <\/span>different <\/span>language: <\/span>Ba\u0161tov\u00e1 <\/span>through <\/span>raw <\/span>gestures <\/span>and <\/span>shifting <\/span>emotionality, <\/span>Hrubant <\/span>through <\/span>archetypal <\/span>forms <\/span>and <\/span>precise <\/span>material <\/span>work. <\/span>The <\/span>exhibition <\/span>space <\/span>becomes <\/span>a <\/span>symbolic <\/span>architecture <\/span>of <\/span>collecting, <\/span>sorting, <\/span>and <\/span>transformation \u2014 <\/span>a <\/span>place <\/span>where <\/span>visible <\/span>and <\/span>invisible <\/span>connections <\/span>between <\/span>the <\/span>two <\/span>approaches <\/span>merge. <\/span>Found <\/span>objects <\/span>gain <\/span>new <\/span>meaning <\/span>here, <\/span>creating <\/span>a <\/span>space <\/span>for <\/span>exploring <\/span>the <\/span>boundaries <\/span>of <\/span>knowledge, <\/span>the <\/span>body, <\/span>and <\/span>imagination. <\/span>Fragile <\/span>Relationships<\/span><\/em> is <\/span>not <\/span>just <\/span>a <\/span>confrontation <\/span>between <\/span>two <\/span>authors, <\/span>but <\/span>a <\/span>probe <\/span>into <\/span>a <\/span>space <\/span>where <\/span>opposites <\/span>turn <\/span>into <\/span>shared <\/span>questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

At <\/span>Kunsthalle <\/span><\/a>Praha, <\/span>you <\/span>can <\/span>visit <\/span>Call <\/span>of <\/span>the <\/span>Forest<\/span><\/em> by <\/span>Czech-<\/span>American <\/span>artist <\/span>duo <\/span>Krist\u00fdna <\/span>and <\/span>Marek <\/span>Milde, <\/span>who <\/span>have <\/span>long <\/span>explored <\/span>the <\/span>relationships <\/span>between <\/span>everyday <\/span>life, <\/span>culture, <\/span>and <\/span>nature. <\/span>The <\/span>exhibition <\/span>presents <\/span>a <\/span>selection <\/span>of <\/span>both <\/span>new <\/span>and <\/span>older <\/span>works, <\/span>in <\/span>which <\/span>the <\/span>forest <\/span>becomes <\/span>a <\/span>symbol <\/span>of <\/span>connection, <\/span>resilience, <\/span>and <\/span>memory \u2014 <\/span>not <\/span>merely <\/span>a <\/span>physical <\/span>space, <\/span>but <\/span>a <\/span>living <\/span>partner <\/span>in <\/span>human <\/span>culture. <\/span>The <\/span>artists <\/span>combine <\/span>poetry <\/span>and <\/span>critical <\/span>insight <\/span>through <\/span>sculptures, <\/span>installations, <\/span>animations, <\/span>and <\/span>collages <\/span>created <\/span>over <\/span>more <\/span>than <\/span>ten <\/span>years. <\/span>New <\/span>works <\/span>created <\/span>specifically <\/span>for <\/span>Kunsthalle \u2014 <\/span>such <\/span>as <\/span>Arbomobile<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>a <\/span>New <\/span>York <\/span>taxi <\/span>overgrown <\/span>with <\/span>North <\/span>American <\/span>trees, <\/span>and <\/span>the <\/span>immersive <\/span>animation <\/span>Call <\/span>of <\/span>the <\/span>Forest<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>composed <\/span>of <\/span>tree-<\/span>themed <\/span>tattoos \u2014 <\/span>investigate <\/span>the <\/span>deep-<\/span>rooted <\/span>human <\/span>longing <\/span>for <\/span>reconnection <\/span>with <\/span>nature. <\/span>Their <\/span>long-<\/span>term <\/span>project <\/span>In-<\/span>Tree-<\/span>Net<\/span><\/em> points <\/span>to <\/span>the <\/span>invisible <\/span>links <\/span>between <\/span>urban <\/span>infrastructure <\/span>and <\/span>natural <\/span>systems, <\/span>blurring <\/span>the <\/span>line <\/span>between <\/span>inner <\/span>and <\/span>outer <\/span>worlds. <\/span>Rather <\/span>than <\/span>depicting <\/span>nature, <\/span>the <\/span>Mildes <\/span>let <\/span>it <\/span>actively <\/span>enter <\/span>the <\/span>everyday \u2014 <\/span>creating <\/span>a <\/span>space <\/span>for <\/span>a <\/span>renewed <\/span>way <\/span>of <\/span>perceiving <\/span>the <\/span>relationship <\/span>between <\/span>humans <\/span>and <\/span>their <\/span>environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
