Among the guests of this year\u2019s series of the EDUcare podcast, we welcomed Alexandra B\u00edzkov\u00e1, the director of the leading Czech investment fund Pro Arte. A visionary woman who, through her involvement in numerous projects, connects art with the world of finance and stimulates discussions about the significance of culture and patronage in society. This very topic will be the central theme of the interview she will conduct with Leo\u0161 V\u00e1lka and Libor Winkler in the ART PATRONS block on September 5th at 6 PM at Superstudio PAW24.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cArt can be an agent of social change. Its great strength lies in opening up complex topics that affect us<\/em>,\u201d explains Alexandra B\u00edzkov\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pro Arte fund has been operating for ten years and was the first of its kind. It was established through the initiative of several Czech businessmen and, according to Alexandra, has creativity in its DNA because it had to carve out its position in the Czech environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alexandra worked her way up within the company and is grateful for her team of colleagues. Throughout her career she had a privilege of handling works by artists such as Toyen, witnessing the transformation of Toyen from a relatively underappreciated artist at the time into one of the most highly valued.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fund functions as a club bringing together a group of prominent Czech investors, many of whom are also generous patrons and supporters of culture. Investing in the fund has its own specifics, it is a suitable diversification tool in the portfolio of more experienced, larger investors.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Alexandra, it is important to realize that we are all part of larger entities, communities on both micro and macro levels. \u201cAnd in art, we can find a common language<\/em>,\u201d she adds.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to advancing art patronage through activities with Via Clarita or the Czech Philharmonic at the highest level, she is interested in supporting young artists. This is why she and her colleagues at Pro Arte decided to become one of the partners of the Young Selection exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n
