26. 9. 2025, 16:30 Prague Art Week: Jindřich Chalupecký Award & Kinke Kooi

Two guided tours will take place as part of Prague Art Week. The program will begin with a tour of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award exhibition, accompanied by this year’s laureates and curators Tereza Jindrová and Veronika Čechová. This will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition of Kinke Kooi, led by the artist herself together with curators Barbora Ciprová and Veronika Čechová. Both guided tours will be conducted in Czech.

Following the tours, there will be a one-hour artist talk titled Listening Body, with Artist Kinke Kooi in dialogue with curators Veronika Čechová and Barbora Ciprová. This year’s international guest of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award is renowned Dutch artist Kinke Kooi. In a conversation with the curators she will explore the feminist dimension of her artistic practice—a practice unafraid to draw on softness, sensuality, and a visual language of care, ornamentation, and femininity. In her detailed drawings reminiscent of baroque opulence, Kooi reclaims decorative elements as sources of power and meaning. Her works create a universe where care is not a weakness but a form of resistance, where beauty is not superficial but political, and where the female experience is not marginal but central.
The conversation will be held in English.

Admission: Free / Languages: Czech and English / Duration: Both guided tours approx. 90 minutes, artist talk approx. 60 minutes / Meeting point: By the visitor elevators on the mezzanine of the Trade Fair Palace (Veletržní palác) / Reservations via on GoOut
