Marie Tomanová will come to Prague Art Week

Among the main guests of Prague Art Week will be photographer Marie Tomanová, who will perform during the accompanying programme in the superstudio on the New Stage of the National Theatre. During the masterclass programme, Marie Tomanová is expected to talk about her career as an artist, which she built in New York, USA.

11 years ago she left Mikulov for America as an au pair. A decade later, she has developed into one of the most outstanding photographers of our time, whose talent was discovered earlier in New York than in Prague. How do the structures of the art scene work in the world’s metropolises? What did she learn? And how does Marie perceive her position as a woman photographer in the New York art scene now?
