HEAD AND SHOULDERS

Michal Štochl has been working with the medium of collage for more than twenty years. In the art world he is primarily known as a curator and exhibition producer. The exhibition offers a loose reflection on the state of the contemporary world and on our ideas of success, fulfillment, and human ambition. The title is a playful paraphrase of advertising slogans and the language of marketing, which constantly promise us a path to happiness, self-confidence, and improved versions of ourselves. In the age of social media, personal branding, and the endless optimization of everyday life, success often becomes a product—something that can seemingly be acquired as easily as a remedy for dandruff or a guide to a better life.
