Make a__place: Matěj Hrbek

How does art change a city? What turns an address into a vibrant place? And who is behind the new PAW26 locations? These are the core questions of the fifth series, Make a _place.

In this new episode, we take you to the Artium by KKCG space, home to a joint exhibition by artist Matěj Hrbek and his partner Alessandra Svatek titled simply: Love.

According to Matěj Hrbek, love is a state of mind and soul so wild and unpredictable that it serves as a natural bridge to the world of art. So, love brought Matěj Hrbek not only to PAW26 but also to our podcast, where we couldn’t miss the opportunity to have him break down this concept in detail. We discussed romanticism and gathering dust, as well as the process of installing an exhibition inside the glass high-tech lobby of the KKCG building at Bořislavka. Here, art transforms the space by infusing it with emotion and humanity—which is precisely how an impersonal address becomes a living cultural place.
