ARTEFIN Gallery in cooperation with Callisto Network is organizing a competition for the best NFT – digital artwork. The announcement of the results, award ceremony and auction of the winning NFT will take place during the Prague Art Week 2022 festival.
The aim of the event is to promote NFT as a distinctive visual medium that expands the boundaries for creating and presenting art. Our aim is to show the professional and general public that NFT is not just a cheaper photograph of an existing work sold for cryptocurrency, but a valuable artistic discipline in which the artist from the beginning thinks of the resulting NFT format as an original artifact.
The competition runs in two categories. The first category is the Jury Award and the second is the Audience Award. The authors of the awarded NFTs will receive a financial reward.
The winning NFT in the Jury Prize category will be publicly auctioned for the duration of Prague Art Week 2022 and the proceeds will be donated to charity. The selected projects, entered in the competition for the best NFT – digital artwork, will be presented at an exhibition in the Artefin gallery in Měšice near Prague and from 9 to 19 September in the video gallery in the mezzanine of the New Stage of the National Theatre. Among the exhibiting artists will be names such as Jiří Černicky, Jiří David, Ašot Haas, Michal Pustějovský, Jakub Sýkora, Petr Hajdyla and others.
During the exhibition it will be possible to get one free NFT, intended only for those who visit the exhibition in person.
