In 1995, he won the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, is a member of the legendary group Tvrdohlaví and is represented in many domestic and foreign collections. For the exhibition Wild Flowers Nikl has prepared a combination of recent realistic paintings of orchid flowers, with an example of an earlier, reduced form of flower representation, and abstract paintings painted on rice paper and then adjusted on canvas.
