BESIDE BODIES

The exhibition traces emancipatory and feminist approaches across different temporal layers, from the second half of the twentieth century to the present. It focuses on shifting ways of thinking about the body in relation to concepts of bodily autonomy and intersectionality. Building on feminist positions, it extends them toward questions of queer history and critiques of normative masculinity. Through works by the invited artists, the exhibition explores the boundaries of corporeality as a space in which personal and social experiences are inscribed into gestures and fragments of clothing, understood as reflective surfaces of performativity.
