Make a __place: Lukáš Kania, Viktoriya Yordanova

How does art change a city? What turns an address into a vibrant place? And who is behind the new PAW26 locations? These are the core questions of the fifth series, Make a _place.

In the next episode of the Make a _place podcast, we spoke with Lukáš Kania, curator and collection manager of Pražská plynárenská, and Viktoriya Yordanova, education and social media manager of Galerie Smečky. We were interested in the history of the collection and how the gallery operates under corporate patronage, as well as how they work with the unique collection of Czech collage in a contemporary context. We looked at the specifics of running a gallery in the very center of Prague—on Ve Smečkách Street—and how educational programs and workshops for families with children help break down intimidation toward traditional gallery environments. As part of the Prague Art Week 2026 festival, which will take place from September 24 to 27, 2026, we also cordially invite you to visit the ongoing exhibition Materia Delikata by Luboš Plný.
