OCCULT COUTURE

The project Occult Couture, prepared by Romana Drda de Angelis in collaboration with curator Pavel Kubesa, approaches the notion of the “hidden”—from the Latin occultus—as a way of naming processes that fundamentally shape both body and identity. For the artist, “couture” becomes a means of giving material form to these hidden movements. The objects therefore do not function as representations of identity but rather as its material configurations: They capture moments of transition in which bodily and psychic structures are rearranged, revealing identity as an unstable form that emerges through the process of transformation.
