Are you curious about how the structures of the New York art scene function? Czech-born photographer Marie Tomanová will share her know-how with Thomas Beachdel, curator, art historian, and associate professor of art history and architecture at the City University of New York (CUNY).
Céline Sabari Poizat, a theorist and researcher from Paris, will speak about the latest trends in contemporary art, explored within the platform she founded called Nonfiction. Thanks to this platform, she helps to develop diverse artistic projects, some of which she will introduce in her presentation.
In a conversation about art practice and what it entails at the moment, you will hear the Turkish-born artist Bora Akıncıtürk, currently based in London, in conversation with curator Ján Gajdušek.This will be followed by a performance by artist Luki Essender. The performance artist will present a poetic narrative entitled “Big Key, Funny Hat, and the Cartier Whore,” in which she explore the obsession with beards, fashion, heteronormativity, sex, travel, and data through the fragmented memoir of a white twink. Luki Essender’s performance, curated by Romana Drdová, was produced by PAW in collaboration with the Alliance of Czech Contemporary Art Galleries.
Tuesday’s program will end with a musical set by Czech artist Anna Ruth in the piazzetta of the New Stage of the National Theatre, which will run until 10 p.m. There will also be a gastro corner with refreshments throughout the evening.
